PRIVACY POLICY
Your privacy is important to us. Any information you submit to HockeyHelps.com will be governed by this policy, so we urge you to carefully read it and understand it before you provide us with any personal information.
We collect information each and every time you visit our site. Some of that information, such as IP addresses or cookies, does not contain any personal information about you, and we collect it to assist in improving our site. Other information, such as your name, address, birth date and financial information, distinctly refers to you and therefore constitutes personal information. This policy protects that personal information.
We collect your personal information to allow us to provide you with services through our site. These services are primarily commercial in nature, and include sales of our products, participation in auctions, participation in internal promotional events and direct advertising campaigns, as well as activities that are necessarily related to the completion of such commercial activities, such as accepting payment from you and to ship your purchased product. Because we use outside service providers to complete these commercial activities, such as PayPal, we necessarily share your personal information with them, but only for the limited purpose of completing any transaction you make on our site. While we endeavour to use third party suppliers who have their own privacy policies in place, we are not responsible for the privacy practices of those companies.
We might also use your information or submitted content in our charitable initiatives, and we might share your personal information with our charity partners. We also provide links on our site to our charity partners for your convenience, but since we have no control over the content or policies of those sites, you access them and provide your personal information to them at your own risk.
If you participate in our “Charity Mask Program”, or some such similar initiative, we will make available to the public through our site the content that you submitted through your participation in the initiative (which includes the artwork and design you submitted) as well as your name, user ID or avatar in order to identify and distinguish your artwork and design from those of other participants. If your artwork or design is used on a goalie mask your name and likeness may be used by us or our affiliates or partners for promotional purposes.
We may also be required to disclose your personal information to comply with legal or regulatory requirements, or in some circumstances we may be legally compelled by court order to disclose your personal information.
We ask for your consent to collect, use or disclose your personal information except in certain circumstances, such as where collection, use or disclosure of your personal information is authorized or required by law, or where you volunteer personal information for an obvious purpose, in which case we will presume you have given us your consent.
We will at times ask for your express consent for some of the purposes noted above, and in the event you are unwilling to provide us with such consent we will be unable to provide you with some services.
You may also contact us and ask to withdraw any consent given over the use and disclosure of your personal information, unless the personal information is necessary to fulfill our legal obligations. We will respect your decision, however we may not be able to provide you or continue to provide you with services or products if you withdraw your consent.
If you decide that you prefer that we do not use or disclose your personal information for marketing purposes, or otherwise as noted in this privacy policy (excepting legal and/or contractual obligations), you have the right to contact us and “opt out” of such uses.
We will not knowingly collect any personal information from any person under the age of 18, except where that person’s parent or guardian has consented to the collection of such information.
At your request, we will let you know what personal information we have in our possession about you, what it is being used for, and to whom it has been disclosed. We will also provide you with access to your personal information that is in our possession, however, some exceptions may apply. We will respond to your inquiry within thirty (30) days. There may be reasonable costs associated with your request.
We will retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected and to comply with all applicable laws.
We aim to have the most complete, accurate and up to date information in our possession, based on the most recent information you have provided to us. If you wish to modify your information please contact us.
We are committed to protecting the personal information in our possession. We protect your personal information in a manner that is appropriate for the sensitivity of the information. We make every reasonable effort to prevent loss, misuse, disclosure or modification of personal information, as well as any unauthorized access to such information. A number of security measures are used by HockeHelps.com to maintain the safety of your information including electronic access controls such as passwords and sophisticated encryption technology. Regardless of the number and sophistication or our practices, you have a responsibility to follow your own safe computing practices, including keeping your userID and passwords confidential. If you suspect that your userID or password has been compromised, you must immediately contact HockeyHelps.com regarding the problem.
We reserve the right to change or modify this policy from time to time and if we do we will provide notice of any significant changes on our site.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding this policy or any specific inquiries regarding our handling of your personal information please contact us at privacy@hockeyhelps.com.
